Boncuk's story
This little sweetie is Boncuk, also known as Bonnie, a 10-12 month old terrier mix who came all the way from Turkey hoping to find her forever family. Pictures cant express how absolutely precious, sweet, and gentle this little girl is. She can be a bit timid at first when meeting new people, but with a little patience (and a treat) she warms up quickly. She makes great eye contact and wants to please. She craves love and attention, and enjoys belly rubs and back rubs ... any attention you give her, shes a happy camper. She would prefer to cuddle up with you on the sofa or on your bed...she loves being close to her people.
Bonnie loves her walks, and is great on leash. Even though she is a young pup, she has a moderate energy level. Definitely needs her daily walks and play, but she settles in well. She is smart, a quick learner, and treat motivated. She has learned to sit and is working on down with her foster family. She does like to chew on shoes and socks if they are accessible, so will need positive reinforcement and a good supply of appropriate toys and chews. To help her reach her potential, her future family should plan on attending a training class with her.
Bonnie gets along great with other dogs big or small. She is a quiet girl, but may bark at a squirrel or in response to another dog. She is doing great with potty training, and hasnt had any accidents while in foster care.
We are looking for a family who will provide Bonnie all the love, exercise, and positive training she needs to thrive. In turn, she will provide a lifetime of love and companionship.
